    Branded Fares

Definition: Airlines classify fares into branded tiers such as "Basic," "Plus," and "Flex," each offering different levels of flexibility, amenities, and pricing. All major GDS platforms include branded fares in their search API responses. In addition to GDS, some flight suppliers also provide these fare options.

    Key Features:

    • Basic Economy: Cheapest, no refunds, no seat selection, minimal baggage.
    • Standard Economy: Includes carry on + checked bag, limited changes.
    • Premium/Business Flex: Fully refundable, priority services, lounge access.

Purpose: Simplifies pricing for passengers while allowing airlines to upsell services.
