Special Request

Definition: A special request is a passenger’s specific need communicated to the airline, such as wheelchair assistance, medical accommodations, unaccompanied minor services or pet travel arrangements. These requests are typically noted in the booking system and fulfilled based on availability and airline policy.

Common Requests:

  • Medical: Oxygen, stretchers.
  • Accessibility: Wheelchair assistance.
  • Family: Bassinets, child meals.

Procedure: Added to PNR; airlines must comply with regulations (e.g., ADA, EC 1107/2006). Passengers are encouraged to communicate these needs during the booking process or at least 48 hours before departure.
